GeoDirectory is an amazing WordPress plugin that I have been playing with to create a CE class directory and a massage school directory. It is great for creating a travel site or local community website.
Start Using WP GeoDirectory:
- Use the setup wizard to get you started.
- Plugins you will need: Recaptcha, Custom Posts, Location Manager,
- Create an add listing Page. The pages are automatically created by GD in WP. Go to your list of pages and use the shortcodes to create your listing pages.
Creating Paid Listings
Getting people to pay for their listing on your directory site is the way most make money with their website. Geodirectory uses a plugin called Pricing Manager to connect to the payment gateway plugin GetPaid. You can choose from many gateways such as Stripe, Paypal, Authorize.net, Square and others.
If you think you might want to have people claim and pay for a listing, you have to set this up before you start adding listings to keep the system tracking the listings correctly. It just won’t work if you add and setup this plugin later.
