The Solo Web Preneur Life

www.Solowebpreneur.com is about how to make extra money or even a living online as a solopreneur.   Some will say there is no such thing as a solopreneur and it's the same as an entrepreneur, but I think it is different.  I don't want to hire teams of people to run everything.  I just like doing most of it myself and I want to teach you how to do it yourself too!

Everyone must know something about something!

Hi, I'm Julie Onofrio and this is my website! I have been a massage therapist in Downtown Seattle since 1989 and somewhere along the lines, I started creating websites as a hobby.  It really all was a fluke that I am here today writing about creating websites/blogs to make money online.

Now I want to share my journey and what I know about creating a business online and creating extra income or even a living online so others can do the same.  I think everyone could use an extra $1000 a month or so or more - no matter where you work or what you do.  At anytime things can change in a flash.

This money from your online business will come in regularly once you get it going and you can keep it going but it will take some work and some time.

Vertigo Started My Online Business

Back in 1999, when I had my first attack of Vertigo, I couldn't work doing massage as much.  Vertigo kept me in bed or on the couch.  I was also planning on helping a friend get her massage license by teaching her massage though an apprenticeship program.  The thing was that I had to create the program first and get it approved by the State Board of Massage. As I started gathering information, I decided to put it all into a website.  Back then I started with free software - Composer and uploaded my first site.  I didn't know what I was doing, but I just kept going.  I thought I would break the internet the first time I FTP'd a site up to the server.

My first site was www.thebodyworker.com (now defunct).  It was all of my notes from massage school.  It was a fluke that that site made any money at all.  It wasn't my intention.  But I had been reading an ebook - Make Your Site Sell, from Sitesell.com.  It was a very comprehensive tutorial for creating a money making website.  I didn't believe it all at first.  It seemed too good to be true.

In about 2002, I started another site...www.massagetherapycareers.com using SBI!   I had put a little ebook together - A Career in Massage:  Is it for you?  and interestingly enough, started selling it within a few months of launching.  Probably about 5 copies a month - but it was something!  I continued to grow that site and sold it in 2008 for enough to live on for a year!

In about 2004, I put Google Adsense ads on both websites.  This is a program from Google that provides the ads and when someone clicks on the ad...you get paid a very, very small percentage of what the advertiser paid Google.   The larger the price of the ad, the more you get.  Sometimes it can be dollars but most of the time it it now pennies.  At that time, massage schools were a hot item.   From 2004 - 2009 or so, that site made me about $130,000 just in Google Adsense ads.   That is just for continuing to write content.  Social Media was just starting back then, and the website world was quite different than it is today.

The SBI! Way!

I learned how to do all this by using Solo Build It - Now Solo Build it! or SBI! is a very in-depth program/system on creating on online business.  It has everything you need to know and do.  The thing is that this information is so detailed and complex, that yes it will get overwhelming at times and it will make you want to throw the computer out the window.

I know, I have been there many times.  The thing is that I have used SBI! for so long that I know it works.  Just take it little by little, step by step.  It will all sink in and come together!  It may take starting and maybe even deleting a few sites.  I have had probably 5 different SBI! sites at different times.

That is why I am creating this site!  To help with that overwhelm and give you ideas and encouragement!
